Dr. Abraham Palmer promoted to Associate Professor with tenure
Dr. Abraham Palmer was promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor with tenure today.

This year there were 60 applications for Associate Member but only 15 slots where available. Associate Members can attend the annual meeting without an invitation and can also serve on some of the committees. More information is available here.
The article, ““Translational genetic approaches to substance use disorders: bridging the gap between mice and humans,” has been published in Human Genetics. This article will appear in a special issue of Human Genetics edited by Maximilian Muenke and Nora Volkow. A copy of the article can be found here.
The article, “Genome-wide association for methamphetamine sensitivity in an advanced intercross mouse line,” has been published in Genes, Brain and Behavior. The article can be found here.
Dr. Abraham Palmer was invited by Professor Rob Williams to present a seminar titled “Quantitative Genetic Studies of Behavior”. While in Memphis he had the best BBQ ribs that he’d ever tasted!
The article, “The Blessings and Curses of C57BL/6 Substrains in Mouse Genetic Studies,” has been accepted for publication in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Abraham Palmer was able to ride his bicycle to the fall meeting of Genetics of Health and Disease (GHD), which was held in downtown Chicago. He was the only member who arrived by bicycle. He will skip the February meeting but will be back on in May.
The article, “Csnk1e is a genetic regulator of sensitivity to psychostimulants and opioids,” has been accepted in Neuropsychopharmacology.
