Rudy Avila joins the Palmer Lab

Rudy started at the Palmer Lab as a Lab Assistant in August 2024.

Prior, he obtained a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University.

Rudy has always been intrigued by genetics-based research and being able to apply learned techniques in a practical setting. He joined the Palmer Lab due to the research tying genetics to psychology with possible applications to healthcare; he plans on attending medical school.

In Rudy's free time, he plays video games, goes to the gym, keeps up with sports year-round, and explores the many food and nightlife scenes San Diego has to offer!

Welcome, Rudy!
