Dr. Abraham Palmer speaks at American Society for Human Genetics
The 2016 annual meeting of the American Society for Human Genetics was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from October 18-22. Dr. Palmer presented at a session organized by 23andMe. Dr. Jianjun Gao speaks at the 2015 Oriental Congress of Laboratory Medicine in Shanghai, China in December
The Oriental Congress of Laboratory Medicine held their 2015 annual meeting at the Shanghai International Convention Center on December 10-12, 2015. Dr. Jianjun Gao was invited to present his talk, “Genome-wide association study of Loneliness demonstrates a role for common variation”. The event organizers covered all fees related to the meeting.

Palmer Lab attends American College of Neuropsychopharmacology 2015 meeting in Hollywood, Florida!
The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology’s 54th annual meeting was held in Hollywood, Florida from December 6-10th.
Dr. Abraham Palmer chaired a panel titled “Genetic Approaches to Delay Discounting: Human and Non-Human Animal Approaches”, which included NIDA Center for GWAS in Outbred Rats collaborator Jerry Richards. The research discussed here has generated significant media interest!

Dr. Oksana Polesskaya presents at Conte Center’s 4th Annual Brain Awareness Day on October 24th
The Conte Center at the University of Chicago held its 4th annual Brain Awareness Day on October 24, 2015. The event gathered over 100 high school students, teachers, and other guests.
Brain Awareness Day was supported in part by the NIDA Center for GWAS in Outbred Rats. Oksana Polesskaya (Scientific Coordinator) presented an overview of the Center’s research.
Nicholas Grahame, Ph.D., Eva E. Redei, Ph.D., and Erik Jorgensen, Ph.D. delivered lectures on topics related to brain research. Graduate students form University of Chicago prepared demonstrations ranging from fixed human brains to electrophysiology
