NIDA U01 grant renewal awarded to Drs. Akil, Li, Watson, and Palmer
A competitive renewal of the U01 grant "Genetics of novelty seeking and propensity for drug abuse in outbred rats” was awarded to Drs. Huda Akil, Jun Li, and Stanley Watson. Dr. Palmer is Co-I and PI of the subcontract to UC San Diego.
This project continues to study the genetic and functional basis of novelty-seeking behavior in two lines of rats that offer a uniquely powerful model for understanding the neural mechanisms of drug seeking, addiction, and relapse.
