The lab is very proud of undergraduate Naomi Gorfinkle. Her poster was selected by the judges as the best poster on a biological topic at the Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium.
The annual Genes, Brain & Behavior meeting will be held in Boulder, CO and is the official meeting for the International Behavioural and Neural Genetics Society (IBANGS). Travel awards are supported by a grant from NIAAA, NICHD and NIDA (2R13AA016249).
Here is a some non-fiction that didn’t undergo peer review, in which Dr. Palmer recounts his favorite winter memory in Chicago.
Dr. Abraham Palmer was invited by Julie Blendy, his seminar was titled “Behavioral genetics in mice and men: quantitative studies related to drug abuse and anxiety disorders.”
The article titled, “QTLs for murine red blood cell parameters in LG/J and SM/J F2 and advanced intercross lines,” has been accepted for publication in Mammalian Genome.
Dr. Palmer presented a seminar titled “Tomorrow’s outbred mice, the genetics of amphetamine-induced euphoria, and why some mice are more anxious that others” at Oregon Health & Sciences University.
The paper titled, “QTL analysis of the properties of soleus muscle fibers in a cross between LG/J and SM/J mouse strains,” in Frontiers in Genetics and can be found here. Thanks to Ari and Andrew who did most of the hard work.
The executive committee is responsible for didactic training and selects and reviews student applications. This grant (T32MH200065) is up for renewal this year.
Dr. Abraham Palmer was promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor with tenure today.
