Apurva Chitre has joined the Palmer Lab! She recently completed her M.S. in Bioinformatics at Johns Hopkins University. While there, she also worked as a data analyst and research coordinator for multiple large-scale studies investigating the genetic basis of various respiratory and cardiovascular diseases in humans. She brings her computational skills and experience with handling large sequencing data to the Palmer Lab. Welcome Apurva!
The manuscript titled “A Cost-effective, High-throughput, Highly Accurate Genotyping Method for Outbred Populations” was accepted in G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics.

December 16, 2022Lunchtime presentations at Palmer Lab for University of Chicago undergraduate students during their career exploration trek to San Diego.
During the presentations, Dr. Palmer gave the students a practical understanding of daily life in biological sciences. He was joined by fellow lab members Thiago Sanches and Michelle Doyle, and graduate student Adam Kline from UC San Diego’s BISB program, who shared their experiences and perspectives as well.
